Privacy Policy
Ad-MOTO Pty Ltd (ABN [TBC]) · Last updated 13 October 2026
1. Who we are
Ad-MOTO Pty Ltd ("Ad|MOTO", "we", "us", "our") operates mobile digital advertising screens mounted on electric scooters (the Ad|BOX) and this website. We are based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, at [street address TBC].
We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains how we manage personal information.
2. The personal information we collect
Website enquiries and register-interest forms. Your name, email address, the cities or sites you are interested in, and anything you choose to write in your message. If you use the contact form, we may also collect your phone number, your role (for example brand, agency, rider or investor) and your city.
Advertisers and agencies. Business contact details, billing details, campaign briefs and correspondence.
Riders and rider applicants. Name, contact details, date of birth, driver licence details, right-to-work information, emergency contact, bank details for payments, rental and payment history, and, while you are on shift, the location of the scooter you are riding. We may also collect information about incidents, insurance claims and vehicle use. We only collect sensitive information (for example health information after an incident, or criminal history checks) with your consent or where the law requires or allows it.
Website analytics and cookies. Information about how you use our website, such as pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and referring sites. See our Cookie Policy.
Campaign measurement data. Each Ad|BOX reports its GPS location, time, and which advertisement played, so we can show advertisers where and when their campaign ran. We also combine this with aggregated, de-identified audience data from third parties (for example census or footfall data).
Assumption [TBC]: the Ad|BOX screens and their sensors do not use cameras, facial recognition or audio recording, and do not collect personal information about people who see the screens. Any proximity or "impact" measurement (for example Bluetooth or Wi-Fi signal counts) is aggregated and de-identified so individuals cannot reasonably be identified. This must be confirmed against the final hardware and software specification before launch, and this section updated if anything differs.
3. How we collect it
Mostly directly from you: through our website forms, by email or phone, in contracts, and through the rider app or onboarding process. We may collect information from third parties with your consent, such as referees, licence-check providers, insurers, or the agency acting for an advertiser.
If you do not give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry, provide a campaign, or engage you as a rider. You can contact us anonymously or using a pseudonym for general enquiries where that is practicable.
4. Why we collect, use and hold it
- to respond to enquiries and register-interest requests, and keep you informed about launch sites and dates
- to quote for, deliver, measure and invoice advertising campaigns
- to recruit, onboard, insure, pay and support riders, and manage scooter rentals, safety and fleet maintenance
- to report campaign delivery (where and when ads played) to advertisers, in aggregated form
- to improve our website, services and network planning
- to send marketing, where you have agreed or the law allows (you can unsubscribe at any time; we comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth))
- to comply with our legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.
5. Who we disclose it to
We may disclose personal information to:
- service providers who help us run the business, such as website hosting, form handling, email, CRM, cloud storage, payment, accounting and analytics providers
- insurers, fleet maintenance providers and, for riders, licence and background-check providers
- related companies in the global Ad|MOTO group, including Ad|MOTO in the United Kingdom, for network operations and reporting
- our professional advisers
- government bodies, regulators or law enforcement where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell personal information. Campaign reports given to advertisers are aggregated and do not identify riders or members of the public.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers and related companies store or access information outside Australia. Countries likely to be involved include the United Kingdom and the United States, and others where our cloud providers operate [TBC: confirm when suppliers are finalised]. Before disclosing personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the APPs, for example through contract terms.
7. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include access controls, encryption in transit, multi-factor authentication for staff systems and supplier due diligence. No system is completely secure, so please contact us if you think your information has been compromised.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law (for example tax and employment records), then destroy or de-identify it.
8. Notifiable Data Breaches
If we experience a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to any individual, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme in Part IIIC of the Privacy Act.
9. Access and correction
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting our Privacy Officer. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. We may refuse access in limited circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act, and if we do, we will tell you why. We do not charge for requests, but may charge a reasonable fee for providing access in some cases.
10. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact our Privacy Officer first (details below) and describe the issue. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): www.oaic.gov.au, phone 1300 363 992.
